Design Engineer, Hot End Components

You will take ownership of design and component responsibility within canning systems on the Hot End side in a global powertrain environment. The scope includes catalysts and downpipes, heat shields, brackets, and Cold End-related parts. You will work in a product development setting where design decisions need to hold up in simulation, supplier dialogue, testing, and physical builds, while product data and documentation stay accurate at every step.

This role suits you if you enjoy combining detailed CAD work with coordination and technical ownership. You will keep designs moving forward in Catia, make sure PLM and admin systems reflect the latest status, and help align internal teams and suppliers around robust solutions. It is an interesting opportunity if you want to influence real hardware in a complex engineering context where quality, traceability, and technical depth matter.

• You design and update components such as catalysts, downpipes, heat shields, brackets, and Cold End parts in Catia.
• You take component responsibility within the assigned area and keep design data, documentation, and admin systems updated with the latest design status.
• You lead the simulations needed for the components and use the results to support technical decisions.
• You drive technical discussions with suppliers and help secure robust, manufacturable solutions.
• You handle part-related work in TC, follow up on documentation quality, and keep GDL/SA3 updated.
• You follow testing and physical builds, report technical status in GTM and other forums, and support report-outs when needed.

• Mechanical engineering degree, or equivalent background.
• Documented experience in Catia V5 and TC.
• Ability to understand simulation results within LCF, HCF, and CFD.
• Experience from powertrain, including EAS and c-parts.
• Understanding of the Global Product Development System and related processes.
• Fluent Swedish and English, written and spoken.
• You communicate clearly and work in a structured, well-organized way.

• Design experience in sheet metal and cast parts.
• Experience from Hot End design work.
